Hello there! I’m Katia.
I discovered yoga in my thirties during a particularly tough time in my life. I was struggling with severe migraines, restless nights, and constant agitation. A friend suggested I give yoga a try, and the only studio near my workplace happened to be a Bikram Hot Yoga studio. Without much knowledge or any expectations, I signed up for a monthly membership. Surprisingly, I found myself never wanting to leave the hot room, and after just a few months, I experienced a significant physical and mental transformation. Despite the inevitable ups and downs, yoga quickly became an essential part of my daily routine. Years later, I decided to delve deeper into the practice and became a yoga teacher. Teaching feels like a natural extension of my journey, allowing me to help others reduce stress and anxiety, and move better so they can feel better. As a wonderful bonus, I now sleep like a baby, and my migraines and nervousness are a thing of the past!
“Yoga is a lifestyle, and when you realize there is much more than just a physical practice, your life will completely change.”

Vinyasa Flow
Some modern yoga classes are referred to as ‘vinyasa yoga,’ which means that poses are linked together with flowing movements and often synchronized with the breath. Vinyasa also involves carefully thought-out sequencing, with each pose preparing the body for the next. Think of vinyasa as a graceful dance, where movements are repeated continuously in a fluid manner.
-
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga, the art of letting go, is a passive practice that involves holding deep stretches for an average of 3-5 minutes. It specifically targets the body’s deepest connective tissues, with many postures focusing on joint areas such as the hips, sacrum, and spine. This practice is also believed to help release emotional tension and alleviate stress by addressing emotions that may be stuck in the body.
-
Prenatal Yoga
Pregnancy Yoga is a traditional practice that combines specific asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques to bring pregnant women to a state of balance, self-awareness, physical strength, and mental peace. It instills calmness, strength, and balance throughout the journey of pregnancy, with the class adapting yoga poses to cater to each stage of pregnancy.
-
Yoga for Athletes
The classes aim to enhance flexibility and mobility, providing assistance for those with locked-up hips, tight hamstrings, or a stiff lower back. Athletes, runners, and golfers often find this mobility training valuable as an addition to their usual practice.
-
Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is designed to counter stress by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the body and lowers heart rate and blood pressure. Restorative yoga poses often incorporate props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets that fully support the body, enabling it to relax and deeply enter a stress-free state. Each pose requires time for the practitioner to arrange the body and adjust props until they achieve a position of complete comfort.
-
Hot Yoga
There are many variations of hot yoga, but the main consistency is that this practice takes place in a heated room, typically ranging from 30°C to 40°C. The class usually lasts 60 or 90 minutes and includes a series of standing and floor poses designed to stretch and strengthen the entire body. Each pose is held for a specific duration, and the heat is believed to enhance flexibility, increase circulation, and promote detoxification through sweating. The rigorous practice challenges both the body and mind, offering physical benefits and a sense of mental clarity and relaxation.
